WAFOP Statement on LInX
Updated On: Aug 23, 2019

LInX (Law Enforcement Information Exchange) is an information sharing database for agencies throughout the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest.  This database is accessed by local, state and federal law enforcement multiple times per day to provide information that supports law enforcement in their investigation of criminal matters.  Inhibiting the interconnectivity of agencies throughout the region leaves residents, victims and law enforcement at risk.  This investigative tool has the potential to include information about individuals having been investigated for domestic violence offenses, emergency restriction orders and firearms violations.  Restricting access to this information threatens law enforcement’s ability to effectively perform the duties in which they were commissioned to do and meet the public’s expectation of law enforcement.
